At first, it’s only a game. Then in July last year, they produced the first issue of Halo: Helljumper comic mini series comics. And now, finally the Anime will be out.
Warner Bros. Animation will release Halo Legends, a new seven-story anthology of animated stories based on the world of the popular video game Halo on February 16. Rising anime star Toshiyuki Kanno directed “The Babysitter” episode of the anthology. He worked with Studio 4oC (and producer Eiko Tanaka) to create the episode which focuses on the intense rivalry between the ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Troopers) and the Spartans. When given an assignment to assassinate a high-ranking Covenant Prophet, a four-man team of ODSTs must accept a Spartan Sniper to their strike force.
Kanno has rapidly established himself as a force within the anime industry, building a reputation for directing stylish action anime in such productions as Black Lagoon, Fighting Spirit, Aquarian Age and Zone of the Enders. He also worked on special effects for Digimon: The Movie. Kanno offers some insight into the production of project in the following Q&A. Please follow this link.

At first, it was only a game. Not just any game though. Halo was created exclusively for Microsoft’s Xbox video game consoles and has become the top-selling title for the platform.
Last week, the first issue of Halo: Helljumper came out. If you don’t know, Halo: Helljumper is a 5 issue comic mini series from Marvel.
Last Thursday, Microsoft announced that it is collaborating with Japanese Anime studios to make short action films based on its blockbuster “Halo” video game franchise.
Microsoft is producing Halo Legends, an anime-style series comprised of seven short films that expand the story behind the wildly popular video game franchise. Five production houses in Japan, Bones, Casio Entertainment, Production I.G., Studio4 C, and Toei Animation, are handling the animation, while Microsoft’s creative staff is handling the approval for the visuals and storytelling. The project is similar to previous Warner DVD animation projects The Animatrix and Batman: Gotham Knight.
Will there be a movie after this?
Anyway, enjoy the trailer.
