At first, it was only a game. Not just any game though. Halo was created exclusively for Microsoft’s Xbox video game consoles and has become the top-selling title for the platform.
Last week, the first issue of Halo: Helljumper came out. If you don’t know, Halo: Helljumper is a 5 issue comic mini series from Marvel.
Last Thursday, Microsoft announced that it is collaborating with Japanese Anime studios to make short action films based on its blockbuster “Halo” video game franchise.
Microsoft is producing Halo Legends, an anime-style series comprised of seven short films that expand the story behind the wildly popular video game franchise. Five production houses in Japan, Bones, Casio Entertainment, Production I.G., Studio4 C, and Toei Animation, are handling the animation, while Microsoft’s creative staff is handling the approval for the visuals and storytelling. The project is similar to previous Warner DVD animation projects The Animatrix and Batman: Gotham Knight.
Will there be a movie after this?
Anyway, enjoy the trailer.
