Macross Frontier

If there’s one anime that I can choose to be on Astro Animax, this should be the one. Macross Frontier, marks the 25th anniversary of the original Macross tv series. To us, Macross should be referring to Robotech which is actually a combination of Macross, Robotech and Mospeada.
Macross Frontier premiered in Japan on April 3, 2008.
This series is set in 2059, about 50 years after the original Super Dimension Fortress Macross. The Human-Zentradi alliance under the New UN Spacy (NUNS) has sent out colonizing expeditions throughout the Galaxy and the series features Macross Frontier, the 25th Colonial Fleet. Macross Frontier is about the lives of Alto Saotome, Ranka Lee (a Zentradi) and Sheryl Nome, a pop idol. It all started with the arrival of Sheryl Nome to Macross Frontier as part of a galactic concert tour. Then, the fleet is suddenly attacked by a mysterious biochemical aliens known as ‘Vajra’ and Alto is forced to pilot the VF-25.
